I found your excellent homepage ALEXANOR in internet when I try to get further informations about Pieris bryoniae in the Karpatian Mountains. I know Pieris bryoniae from Slovakia very well and now I want to travel to Ukrainian Mountains this year. At first I like to inquire into the biology, f. ex. the larval-foodplants. In easternmost Slovakia it is Dentaria bulbifera, but farther east? And there are big taxonomic problems in this region, too. Please can you help me? Do you know the Ukrainian name of Osa? And do you know, if bryoniae-females from the Slowakian Border look different from this of the Romanian? Perhaps do you know the larval-foodplant in your Region, too? Thank you very much for your co-operation.

Sincerely yours,
Jürgen Hensle

I browsed through your excellent, well documented website and landed on the Links page. There I found out, that unfortunately there's no link to my Butterflies Starting Page (www.butterfliesstartingpage.nl). My website provides the best butterfly websites availble on the internet (including yours!!!) for those who are interested to find out more about all aspects regarding butterflies. I would really appreciate it, if you could also mention the Butterflies Starting Page on your website, after you visited it to have a look. There's also a banner available, should you be interested.
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work for butterflies, they still need any support, wordwidely!!!!!

I visited your home page and found it as very interesting for me. Mainly, description of Lysandra podolica is interesting for me. From area of Slovakia where I live (in town Banska Stiavnica) was described new species of Lysandra complex a year ago (Lysandra slovacica). This species is characterised by 2 flights in year (1-st May -June, 2-nd August - September). However, Dr. Kudrna told me that, it was only L. coridon which has 2 generations. Generally, L. coridon has 1 generation in almost all area of Slovakia and 2 generations are very unussual. 2 generations are known from small territory on limestone norht western part of the country.

Thank you Kids and Nature Kittens and Nature for your wonderful nature video on Manitoulin Flora. My daughter and grandaughter and I all love your tape. Bonnie and I have looked at it several times for its lovely peaceful effects. The shots, the music, the mood, and even the jacket are well worth this great purchase. You will remember that when I bought the video I purchased 2 copies as I planned to use the extra one for a gift for a friend who is a nature enthusiast. However now I am going to give that extra copy to my daughter, Bonnie. This way neither of us need to borrow, and it will be on hand whenever we want it. I haven't looked at the Kittens in the Country tape yet as I wanted to leave it in the plastic wrap to use it for a gift. However I'm now thinking I should really open it to give myself a chance at another special treat from Kids and Nature. Thanks so much! Doreen Bailey
